About

I am chiefly interested in anglophone diasporic/exilic literature, and tend to use the theoretical scaffolding provided by cultural and/or postcolonial studies to erect my analyses.

I began graduate studies en route to a PhD in Comparative Literature at the Department of Comparative Literature at SUNY Binghamton in the Fall of 2008 after completing the BA with honors in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.

I received the MA in Comparative Literature in the Spring of 2010 from SUNY Binghamton.

As a Teaching Assistant, I am responsible for independently creating my own syllabi and grading rubrics here at Binghamton. So far, I have taught several undergraduate literature and cinema courses both online and in class. Many of these courses have featured curricula intended to fulfill the undergraduate composition requirement while at the same time providing an introduction to world literature and cinema.

My teaching interests include:

• First Year Composition
• World Literature
• British Literature Survey
• Postcolonial Theory and Fiction
• The Contemporary Novel
